More Information on North Carolina
 Home

So what does North Carolina have to offer? It really depends on what part of the state you’re in, but regardless, there’s plenty to do. Plan a weekend of fun in the sun at one of its beautiful beaches or barrier islands where you can dine on Calabash style seafood and sip on pjna coladas. Or, visit the triangle: Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, and catch a Wolfpack, Blue Devils, or Tarheels game. While in Charlotte, experience the rolling thunder of NASCAR, watch a live Carolina Panthers game, or get the ride of your life at nearby Paramount’s Carowinds amusement park. Not looking for city life? That’s okay. Pack up the SUV and the kids and head to the Appalachians, to camp, hike, fish, hunt, or just enjoy the breathtaking views along the famed Blue Ridge Parkway. Also, as one of the original 13 colonies, the entire Old North State, as it’s sometimes called, is rich in historical landmarks: famous ships, battlefields, fortifications, and historic homes, like the magnificent Vanderbilt Estate.

A Serious Steakhouse with More than Just Steaks

Ruths Chris Steak HouseOne can only expect the best at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. As Ruth Fertel once said, "It's the sizzle that sets us apart from the stuffy, stodgy, old-line steak houses. You have a great steak at Ruth's Chris, but you also have a great time, and you always leave with great memories."

This is the place that showed the world how great a steak can be: carefully selected and aged for tenderness and then cut thick to ensure juiciness. Then, seared to perfection at 1800 degrees. Finally, seasoned simply with salt, black pepper and a touch of parsley. Topped with fresh butter that sizzles seductively on your plate, announcing the arrival of a great steak.

At Ruth's Chris, while steak is king, the royal family is large. Be sure to also try the Market Fresh Seafood selection, cooked to perfection. Or the popular Ahi Tuna Stack, seared rare, topped with Colossal lump crabmeat and served sizzling with red pepper pesto. There's even something for vegetarians. The Grilled Portobello Mushrooms - marinated Portobello mushrooms on fluffy garlic mashed potatoes with grilled asparagus, broccoli, tomatoes and sizzling lemon butter is sure to please your palette.

Fresh ingredients are at the core of Ruth’s Chris steakhouse and that philosophy extends from the kitchen to the wine cellar to the bar. So, enjoy a martini with your favorite vodka, whether that's Grey Goose, Armadale or Chopin. If you're a Scotch drinker, be sure to try the 25-year-old Macallan single malt. Of course, the restaurant also has the finest vintages from the world's greatest wineries, by the bottle or by the glass. At Ruth's Chris, your meal will always have the perfect accompaniment.

Clearly, Ruth’s Chris take their food seriously, but they’re also serious about making sure you have a good time. So you won't find the stodgy, uptight attitude you might find at other steak houses. So, feel free to laugh out loud, stay a while and experience the sizzle.

North Carolina has much to offer its citizens and visitors alike, from its bustling, modern cities to its rural areas, whose undeveloped woodlands still cover the majority of the state. In the eastern region of the state are the beautiful, tan sand outer banks, a chain of over 100 natural barrier islands that protect its mainland’s coastline from the great Atlantic. In the center of the state is the piedmont region, home to “the Triangle”, an area comprised of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Here you’ll find NC State University, Duke University, and the University of North Carolina all within short drives of one another. These accredited universities and the many growing businesses that call the area home bring with them academic, artistic, and cultural diversity, as well as shopping, dining, and nightlife. Raleigh is the spot to be to catch the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes in action. A bit farther to the west is the state’s largest city, Charlotte, where NASCAR fans rally at the track, NFL fans flock to the Carolina Panthers’ stadium, and thrill seekers take the rides of their lives at nearby Paramount’s Carowinds amusement park. In the western part of the state lie the majestic, rolling hills of the Appalachian Mountains, where campers, hikers, and sightseers can take in the breathtaking views along one of the nation’s most scenic roads, the famed Blue Ridge Parkway. Also, as one of the original 13 colonies, the Old North State, as it’s sometimes called, is rich in historical landmarks throughout the state.
